A retreat unlike any other, Sea Fans Villa sits on the idyllic Mahoe Bay with direct access to its pristine beach. A gorgeous pool is the focal point of an expansive covered verandah with an outdoor kitchen and gas grill, two separate dining areas, and an “outdoor living room” seating area. This shaded stone patio anchors two of the villa’s four bedrooms, and the main house’s air-conditioned Great Room, which features a vaulted cathedral roof with 4 ceiling fans and indirect lighting. There is a modern, extremely well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster oven, and refrigerator/freezer with an in-door ice and water dispenser.
Sea Fans was designed to maximize each bedroom’s privacy, so you can have a cocktail, read a book, take a nap, or just relax…on your personal (and private) balcony or terrace outfitted with lovely teak furniture. The two separate beachfront master bedroom suites are augmented by a two-story, 2-bedroom guest pavilion, with the second-floor bedroom having its own kitchenette. Each of these four hexagonal guest suites has its own separate entrance, A/C, bathroom, and private “outdoor” shower (no one can see in, but you can contemplate the sunset over Drake’s Channel).
Three of the king-sized beds have a pull-out trundle drawer suitable for toddlers, but cribs are also available upon request. For infants, in addition to a portable crib & playpen housed permanently on-site, the villa has its own adjustable high-chair and wireless baby monitor with a remote-controlled infrared camera. Sea Fans is kids-friendly!
The villa’s layout strikes a wonderful balance that readily enables socializing among guests, or finding some solitude and “quiet time” whenever that is your preference.
“Sea Fans” is located on the leeward side of the island so it enjoys gentle breezes with temperatures usually in the low 80’s to upper 70’s throughout the year. Step off of the property directly onto a clean sandy beach. Because there is a reef a short swim off shore the water laps against the beach making it ideal for children (of all ages). The reef also gives you a very private beach by preventing boaters from being able to come ashore. Under the water a soft, sandy bottom with no coral or sea urchins stretches out a short swim to the reef. Bring your own or rent snorkel gear so that you can discover the wide variety of fish and coral right in your own “back yard”.
There are three shaded areas attached to the house for those who prefer a cooler, relaxing area to sit, read or sleep. The house is entered through a wide shaded porch. The rear side of the villa provides views of the beach that can be enjoyed on the large porch that has both a dining and sitting area. Beside the house is a Bougainvillea-covered terrace with a stone breakfast dining table for 4. Enjoy the luxurious 20′ x 40′ foot pool, which is the largest in the area! It is conveniently situated between the covered patio and the beach. Also located in the pool area is a wet bar, complete with an ice maker and refrigerator.
A seat-height native stone wall that defines the pool provides a great place to sit as well as safety for the “little ones”. At one end of the pool is a below-water bench seat to rest on after swimming laps or for sipping your favorite frozen drink. Teak lounge chairs and a teak table with an umbrella are placed about the Oklahoma stone decking. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with colorful flowers, several varieties of palms, and banana, lime, and grapefruit trees. Native boulders rest comfortably about the property, directing the various lighted paths to their destination.
The large freshwater pool is in your front yard, surrounded by a flagstone sun deck and glorious island landscaping, and bordered by market umbrellas and cushioned teak chaise lounges. The beautiful island landscaping screens the pool area completely so you can enjoy total privacy in the pool. Just behind the main pavilion is Sea Fan's two-story guest pavilion, offering two more air-conditioned bedroom/bath suites (one with its own kitchenette, and each suite has its own covered verandah).
